Journal breeze is an inspiring virtual place for journaling together. We mindfully design, create and write in what is referred to as junk journals. Instead of junk journals, I think of them as potpourri journals, a personally curated assortment of unrelated or similar papers, textiles, materials, and dimensional embellishments such as charms, and pieces from nature. These are unique and personal journals that bestow beauty, joy, an artful challenge, comfort, and pride to the maker, with places for meaningful writing, documenting, photos and memories.
Journal Breeze is also a place for meeting creative women across the country live on Zoom. I started JB five months into the 2020 pandemic stay-at-home orders happening across our planet. Crafting together live virtually helped bridge the dark times. And guess what? It’s fantastic. We will continue to meet this way long after the masks are off. Please join us to create and/or write in our monthly salons and learn more through my workshops.
What is a Salon, you ask? A Salon was a highly personal experience where like-minded creative people such as writers, artists, poets, and designers would meet to learn, discuss, and share their creative pursuits and ideas. The informal gatherings inspired and grew the minds, hearts, and creative skills of those who were there, regardless of the level of their experience or fame.
Salons are as old as time itself around the globe. I’ve often wished I could have attended those on the Left Bank of Paris in the mid-1900s, but I’m content in creating them anew in the 21st century and meeting with you.
